Accessibility
Best Coffee Bean Site aims to meet WCAG 2.2 level AA, and to be usable without a mouse, without images and without JavaScript.
What is in place
- Every page works with JavaScript disabled. The only script on the site handles the cookie choice and the navigation toggle.
- Keyboard focus is visible on every interactive element, and a skip link is the first item in the tab order.
- Colour is never the only carrier of meaning. Verification states, source types and price bases are labelled in words as well as tinted.
- Data tables use proper header cells and captions, and scroll horizontally inside their own container rather than pushing the page wide.
- Text reflows to 320 pixels without a horizontal scrollbar, and body copy can be enlarged to 200 per cent without loss of content.
- Motion is minimal, and what there is respects the reduced-motion preference.
Known limits
The price ladder is a visual comparison on a logarithmic scale. Every figure it plots is also printed as text beside its bar and repeated in the origin records, so nothing in it is only available visually — but a long list of figures is a poorer experience than the graphic, and we would like to do better.
