Potser va ser recreat i canviat per satisfer paladars europeus com en moltes parts d'Àsia, com Malàisia, Tailàndia i Singapur la mateixa recepta per a Java que es diu “Cafè Llet Heat” (Malàisia) o “Gafeh Rorn” [lit: hot java] (Thailand) has already existed for decades and is popular inmamakbooths andkopitiamsin Malaysia.
